multiple instances of Access

Something odd just changed today in Access. It used to begin a new instance whenever I externally opened a database (i.e., from Windows Explorer et al).

Suddenly he keeps trying to use the same one. If I have one MDB open, and bang the other in Explorer, the bang is just ignored, effectively.

Maybe this is a temporary situation or specific to these 2 files (who are inbred/clone relatives). But has anyone seen this or have the explanation? Did I bang some option inadvertently?

And BTW AFAIK no macro code is in progress, which at least in Excel can lead to precisely this type of confusion.

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
This more-or-less self-resolved. It only appears to involve a particular pair of MDBs. Though I still wish I knew why, I can work around the incovenience.
