Hi, I'm not even sure how to title this and as such unable to find a solution which i'm sure is out there. Basically I'm looking to do a formula that says

Basically i have 5 cells at as each gets filled out cell a1 would increase by 20 % so if A1 is "" then "" else 20% unless b1 is filled then 40% unless c1 is filled the 60% all the way to 100%.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Hi,

If the data cells do not contain a formula producing a Blank ( "" ) result, you can do it this way, works for Both Text and Numeric data:

Book1
ABCDEF
1thisthat40%
Sheet677
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
F1=IFERROR(1/(1/COUNTA(A1:E1))*0.2,"")

Format result cell as Percentage.

If you Do have formulas in the data cells, we'll tweak the formula to accommodate.

This is perfect because its not dependent on the previous cell so if somebody skips one it will still report % completed. TY.

NOTE: in my actual worksheet the cells were not next to each other so I just put comma ie A1,C1,E1 etc.
