Multiple hyperlinks & lookup

I have a folder containing an excel spreadsheet that lists numerous document numbers that relate to corresponding pdf images in the same folder. I need help converting these document numbers in the spreadsheet to hyperlinks that will open the appropriate pdfs.

An additional challenge is that a single document number may have several images associated with it. However they are identified as 1051-2_1 then 1051-2_2 and so on. So I'm assuming I'd need to establish a vlookup of sorts to ensure that all images related to document 1051-2 would be connected.

Any help you could provide would be appreciated IMMENSELY!!!

It will probably be easier to import a list of your filenames into your worksheet, than to try to do some kind of wildcard or vlookup matching for the possible _1, _2... images.

This thread showed one way to do pattern lookup for hyperlinks using VBA, but that doesn't look like as good a fit for the scenario you describe.
