Hello everybody

I have the following problem.
I have a table with daily attendance of a variety of jobs (“Carpenter”, “Helper”, “Electrician”, “Plumber”, etc.), from where I need to get a brief summary on category versus presence. If in the daily column is not a number, that row must be counted.

Any Help???
Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
You'd probably use something like this

=SUMPRODUCT(--NOT(ISNUMBER($A$1:$A$6)))

If you need to summarise by job you can add that in

=SUMPRODUCT(--(NOT(ISNUMBER($A$1:$A$6))),--($B$1:$B$6="Carpenter"))
