Hi all,
I've read multiple previous threads and after much experimenting, still can't find what I need.
I need an answer in Heading 5 (E3) for if the following conditions are met in column Q, R & S (Heading 17 to 19)

*if Q, R, and S all have N/A or Y to return E3 a Y (yes) answer
*if Q, R, and S have N in any of the three columns --> then return E5 as N (no)

thanks for your help.

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
If that is a formal Excel table then try this in E3 (adjusting for the correct table name & headings)
Excel Formula:
=IF(COUNTIF(Table4[@[Heading 17]:[Heading 19]],"N"),"N","Y")

Otherwise try
Excel Formula:
=IF(COUNTIF(Q3:S3,"N"),"N","Y")

I have a question:in the row 4,two conditions are satisfied at the same time, that is, N (condition 2) and Y or N / A (condition 1), which condition has higher priority

My interpretation is that condition 1 is not met there
*if Q, R, and S all have N/A or Y to return E3 a Y (yes) answer

Hiya - thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
For Row 4 - as any of the 3 have an N the return answer would be N

row 3, 4, and 7 all have an N so answer N
row 5 & 6 don't have a "no" only Y & N/A - therefore return answer is Y
The overriding factor is any N returns an N
the Y and N/A are equal and should return Y

Hopes that helps

Not sure which one, but so long as one of them is it is all good! Thanks for the follow-up. :)

sorry - the paste didn't work --> this one =IF(COUNTIF(Q3:S3,"N"),"N","Y")

Thanks - it was just for interest (about whether you had a formal Table or not). (y)
