I am running into trouble configuring a cell formula that is testing for multiple embedded conditions based on values in 4 separate cells. In fact, it seems that there are perhaps dozens of possible outcomes. I've begun by testing with nested IF(AND( statements. I can see how this could eventually work -- if I am able to configure the formula. But, the process is very complex and quickly becomes confusing with the multiple, redundant parenthetical snipets. Is there a better way to do this than a single, immense formula?

I apologize for being vague. I'm hoping to get a general tip for this type of situation, rather than a specific solution to my one cell.

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
I apologize for being vague ...

.. which does make it difficult to provide a general solution. Can you please provide more detail?

For example, are the values in cells 1 to 4 independent, or do the possible values in cell 2 etc perhaps depend on what is entered into cell 1?

What is your formula doing depending on the values in cells 1-4?

Stephen, thank you for responding. I am going to create an example and post. Thanks.
