Multiple Base Data

Hi,

Is it possible to have multiple base data in PowerPivot? Or rather is there a way to create a master base data set from multiple independent Excel sheets (in the same workbook)? The data is basically extracts of the hours people have booked on their time sheets in different parts of the business (i.e. three different finance systems) and I need to provide some analysis at various levels of detail to management.

The data layouts are not identical as we're trying to stick with 'raw' data as much as possible but I can name the column headings that are the same with the same name. I know I could write vba to do it but would this interfere with PowerPivot?

I'm happy with a one-to-many relationship but I'm completely stumped on how best to basically merge three independent data into one large base data set that I can then do a 'traditional' PowerPivot analysis with. I want to create a combined data table but only have to copy and paste the raw data into separate Excel worksheets if possible.

Is this possible?

Thanks :)

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
stardust2000_uk,

Have you had any success in finding a solution? I have a similar problem. I have three companies using the same program/ERP. I want to combine identical tables from the three databases into one PivotTable.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

G/L

No solution! We're having to do a manual work around annoyingly... I'm sure there is a way using the connections part of Excel but I don't have the time to figure it all out at the moment.
