Multi Quote This Message button

Can someone please explain how this button works?

When I click it, it turns red but then nothing else happens.

It's not for instant quotation but a marker for quotations of multiple messages.
Go to a thread with at least one reply and klick on the button at every message you want to quote. Then press the regular Quote-button.
Et voila!

PS: I just noticed the line at the end of the texteditor:

You have selected 2 posts that are not part of this thread. Quote these posts as well, or deselect these posts.

So even quoting across threads is possible.

OK, now I see how that works.

Well, that's not what I expected! I thought it quoted a quote within a quoted post. Sort of like "nested" quotes, if you will.

For example, you'll notice that the quoted block from your reply is not included.

That's what I thought "multi quote" did but apparently not.
