multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) in Excel

Has anyone built multi-level BOM functionality in Excel?
I have a seen an example with only pivots but it was a single-level BOM, which is of use for any but strictly-basic situations...

Thanks for the quick reply. I took a look at that, but it is quite focused on construction, while my focus is engineering and manufacturing.
Actually, I found out, after posting, that there is an Access app, made by a small company named PEDYN (www.pedyn.com) that looks very much alike what I need.
