First off let me explain what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to make test procedures for let's say a generic product that has multiple options that can be added to it. So I need to be able to make a test procedure with all the steps that will test the generic product. What I would like is a spot I can put in all the possible steps to test the entire product, then another spot where I list out all the options and I can put a check mark or something by all the options that apply to the product. Then either hit a button or automate it so that it will take whatever I have checked off and make my test procedure for me. Is microsoft word capable of doing this, or is there a better program out there to use? I appreciate an help you can give me. Thanks!!

Hi there,

I think possibly a fairly basic Access database with a couple of tables holding the test details and the procedure details might be your best option. You could have a form to add the options that you want for each procedure and then create a report to output you test procedure.

You'd almost certainly get away without having to do any programming as if required to (which I don't think you necessarily would be) Access lets you build simple macros from a list of options and it would have the advantage of being able to save all the test information as you created each one.

Hope it helps,

Dom
