Good morning!
This may be a really silly question, but is there an easy way to make Word always open a document where it was when last saved? I save documents while at the bottom of my document but when I open it later I am at the top. Not a huge deal, just an annoyance when crafting a long document over the course of several days.
If there is not a setting or option I'll have to write a macro...
Thanks much for any input,
Bill

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
A macro should not be required if you can edit the document

{SHIFT}{F5} takes you to the LAST change made to a document

BEFORE closing the file
- make a tiny change where you want the document to open (type XXXXX or something obvious)
- save and close the file

OPEN the document and {SHIFT}{F5} takes you to page with XXXXX

NOTE:
If you have just edited the document then saving the file should suffice without inserting XXXX, but use XXXX if you are reading the document and want to go back to where you stopped reading etc

Yongle,
Thanks very much for the response! I appreciate the info. Although I was hoping for something that would happen without intervention, SHIFT F5 (Did not know about that one!) is better than what I have now.
Thanks again!
Bill
