I use MS Query extensively with data from both MS Access queries and MS Excel spreadsheets. I am currently using Excel 2010. Lately, when I refresh the query, Excel opens the source spreadsheets, even if they are tied to the Access query. This is not only annoying, it is a time-sink since I have to close all the source files. There is also the fact that some of my spreadsheets are shared and the users shouldn't see the source data. Does anyone know why this might happen and how I can prevent it? I have examined the MS Query definition and don't see a check box or anything else that would cause this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
