in 2003, you could change the default # of sheets from 3 to 1 (as an example) with the Tools-Options-General command...any ideas on what the equivalent is in office 2007?

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
Goto the Office button on the ribbon, then the Excel Options button on the bottom. The sheet number selection is in the Popular tab.
