Hey! Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I'm Bill Jelen.
Basically, you start out with massive amount of data.
How we're going to analyze as well.
Let's fire up a pivot table.
See if we can solve this problem.

Let's correct a few issues back in episode 943.
I talked about how to figure out, the first of the next month.
I didn't use EO month.
That's just a long standing thing back in the days of Excel 2003.
EO month was in the analysis tool pack.
So, a lot of people didn't have it.
I tried to avoid that.
Now, that we're in Excel 2007, it's built in.
So, you're right what the heck, we need to find the first of the month, just use EO month of this date and you can actually say comma 0 that will go out 0 months at the end of the month 0, months out.
If I would put one and be the end of next month and right answer, wrong format.
I'll press [ ctrl 1 ], choose date.
Now, back in that episode.
We were trying to figure out the first of the next month.
You just add one to that.
Great way to go.

Also back to my huge Macro, to take the data in Word and sort it.
You know, I didn't think that you could sort data in Word unless was in a table.
It turns out that you can press [ ctrl A ].
This is from Melanie.
Melanie send in this, cool trick if we go to table, and then sort there is a sort by paragraph.
So, I'll be darned, sort ascending, sort descending.
Now, I had two paragraphs and so Melanie noticed that in the podcast and wrote back and said when I created this data instead of using hard returns.
I should have used a special kind of return called a text breaking return and that's under insert break, text wrapping break and she said me know if you would have done that when you would have created this the whole sort thing would have worked.
I wasn't smart enough to do that but appreciate the suggestion.
Just good to know that you can actually sort by paragraphs in Word.
That's a cool trick, Melanie!
I wish I had a Word master pin.
I could send to you you'll have to deal with the Excel master pin and scratch out Excel input, would appreciate that Word tip.
