Hey. Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast. I'm Bill Jelen. Well, let's fire up Excel here.
You know, every time that I start Excel, over on the right-hand side, I get this very annoying GETTING STARTED pane.
It shows me the last 10 files that I've opened, you know, and the ability to search, and, really, I just close that almost every time.
If that's annoying you, if you just want to permanently get rid of it, there's a way to do that.
We go to TOOLS and then OPTIONS, and go to the VIEW tab.
On the VIEW tab, if you uncheck STARTUP TASK PANE, uncheck STARTUP TASK PANE.
Now, we'll close Excel, start Excel again, and, sure enough, we just start with a blank spreadsheet without having to close GETTING STARTED.
There you go.
Simple little tip.
Well, there you have it.
Thanks for stopping by.
We'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
