Hey, welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I am Bill Jelen.
Got a note from Deon.
Deon [ inaudible 0:19:3 ] He said hey, I was watching Episode 725 and you missed it.
There is a really cool way to do what you wanted to do back in 725.
I talked about using edit go to special road differences to compare two columns.
But I said in real life, we would have a whole series of columns.
We want to compare all of those and there is a relatively easy way to do that.
Here's the on strike.
He said select the first range, hold down control while you select the second range and then use Go to Special.
Edit>Go To Special And ask for the row differences.
Now, initially this highlights nothing because everything in column A and column H is equal.
But each time we press F4, It's going to redo the command and we'll find the differences between Columns B and I in this case.
So, here's F4.
You see there's one and then the next F4 compares to the next column Sales, and then in the next column Cost..
Let me again Format these in yellow.
Basically, by using Edit Go To Special row differences and then pressing F4 for each additional column, I was able to go through and highlight anything to change from the left table to the right table.
An amazing trick!
I want to thank Deon for sending that in.
And I want to thank you for stopping by.
We'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
