Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast.
I'm bill Jelen.
Well, this netcast goes back to a couple of different podcasts.
We start with episode 543 and then episode 558.
This is where we had to rearrange columns.
Today Derek from UK, checks in with an even better way of doing it.
Now, the way that I had suggests it was basically to right click on a column, use cut and then right click to the right of where the data is supposed to go and use insert cut cells, couple of right clicks and you've solved the problem in episode 558, this suggestion was to use control+spacebar to select the entire column and then shift click on the border and drag to a new spot.
Today Derek points out, that you could also select the entire column and this time right click and drag.
When you right click and drag, drop the data and then choose Shift Right and Move, there's options there for Shift Right and Copy but, I'm going to Shift Right and Move.
Basically, that will take the data and move it.
So, at least three different ways to solve this problem.
If you need to rearrange your columns, plenty of options there.
Thanks to Derek for sending in that great suggestion.
I'll be sending them an Excel master pin for his idea.
If you have any questions for the podcast or if you see something that we do, and there's a better way to do it.
Please feel free to let me know bill@mrexcel.com, and we'll get to it on a future podcast.
Thanks for stopping by.
See you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
