I must have been insane.
Ohio in January called this morning of the year. I didn't have to go stay in the line in Staples Microsoft produced 100 million copies of Excel 2007, what the heck was I thinking.
Hey today's the big day January 30th, Excel 2007 comes out don't go stand out in the cold just go get a copy.
There's plenty there when you do new book, Special Edition using Microsoft Excel 2007.
This is one of the three big monster books on Excel 2007 and I'm glad that this year Q1 trusted me to be the guy to write it.
Big tip here is once you get to Excel 2007.
You're never going to be on figure out where anything is the first couple of days are just going to be sheer misery.
Trying to figure out where they hid things on the Ribbon.
Pivot tables you would think it'd be on the Data ribbon.
No, for whatever reason I have no clue they put it on the Insert ribbon. Go figure.
So, I have a solution I produced a tip card. You know we used to sell a tip card at MrExcel little laminated thing.
This time I'm just going to give the tip card away for free you print it out in your own office.
On the front of the tip card shows all of the old Excel 2003 menus File, Edit, View, Insert, Format.
I've added little color codes here down at the bottom the tip card.
You'll see the Excel 2007 ribbon same color codes.
So, for example, If you're looking on the Data ribbon, Data, Sort is both on the red and the green, red is Home, green is Data.
Print this out in color stick it on your cube wall and you will have no problem figure out where all of the Excel 2003 menu items are hiding in Excel 2007.
To get the tip card it's absolutely free just come to my website mrexcel.com/excel2007tipcard.html.
All lowercase.
Download it's a tiny PDF file print it out on a color printer. You're good to go.
Hey, thanks for stopping by.
We'll see you tomorrow for another netcast from MrExcel.
