MrExcel MVP

Call me blind but I can't see a thread explaining what it means when someone has a tag of MrExcel MVP. Now I know what MVP means but I'm curious what gets a person that status and what responsibility that entails. I searched the term in the forums but then come up with lots and lots of threads where an MVP has posted.

Rather like the Microsoft MVP designation, it's a title bestowed/inflicted on certain individuals based on their contribution to this board. It's based on an assessment of a lot of different attributes by the incumbent MVPs/Moderators/Admins. There are no specific set criteria.
