Hey all,

I'm building a collection of very high-level project timelines for a quick snapshot of where a project currently stands. This is all based on the dates / date ranges I'm given by Project Managers, and then have to manually extend and move the visual timeline references around.

*Edit* - I don't seem to be able to include the shapes with xl2bb. Please see image below table for visual ref.

I was wondering if there is a smarter, more automated way to accomplish this. I don't know if what I'm asking is too much because of the shapes all being on the same line, rather than stacked on top of one another.

Here's a dummy example of what I am currently doing. There's two timeline examples there:

Tl;dr - Can I "link" shapes to a date range? (VBA, formulas...) Either based on a start/end date, or possibly the number of days stated, and then have them extend/lengthen? I guess an "anchor" starting point would need to be defined, followed by the end date...

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
All I can think of, assuming I even remotely grasp what you're saying, is to use the Left property of the shape you want to move. It's position would have to be calculated and be relative to something but I have no idea what that is. Another shape? A cell border? Relative to the left window border? If not to another shape, then I suspect there will be issues when/if someone alters a column width.
