There's probably a simple answer, but brain isn't working today......I'm trying to move a tab (with formulas and conditional formatting) from one workbook into another. I've tried copying the entire page and pasting, but I end up losing all my formula's and my conditional formatting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
How exactly are you copying the entire tab?

If you click on the box in the upper left hand corner (where the row numbers and column letters intersect), that will select your whole sheet.
Then if you go to cell A1 of your other sheet and hit paste, it should paste everything, including formulas and Conditional Formatting.

It has always worked for me.

Which version of Excel are you using?
Are you working on an Excel file, or a file of a different format being opened in Excel?

I've tried copying and pasting by the intersection box and by simply highlighting the entire portion of data. When I paste into the other workbook the error message I get is "The range you are pasting contains formulas that cannot be pasted into this instance of Excel (same version as source material); however, the formulas will be pasted as values. This may result from pasting formulas from Protected View (it's not), another instance of Excel or from another application"

When I create a copy it doesn't give me an option to create it in an existing worksheet

Is the workbook open?
All the open workbooks will be displayed in the To book: list of the move or copy dialog box.

It sounds like maybe you have some worksheet protection causing interference?
If that is the case, you may need to remove the protection first.

Seems odd that it won't just paste.

Have you tried paste special?

Copy range
Right click | paste special | formats
Right click | paste special | formulas
