Hi all,

Just a quick query about drawing a graph.

I would like to draw a movement graph, let's say from 8am in the morning to 8pm in the evening, everyday.

The x-axis would be the position. let's say you move from step 4 to step 200 within 12 hours.

The y-axis would be each individual object that is making a move during that 12 hours. Let's say Jack, Bill and Smith. Probably it could go up to 10-20 people at Y-axis.

So, what I would like to see is, the graph will be horizontal cylinder or bar, that will represent movement of each person along the line (from step xx to step xx).

Is it possible to create such a graph in excel?

Hi VoG,

Thanks for your prompt reply! But I would like to have an individual horizontal line or bar for each data in Y-axis, and they are independent of each other. E.g. Jack, Bill, Smith, etc.

Maybe, to put it simple, is to have start point and duration for each data in Y-axis. It looks like Gantt chart, which can be done easily in Microsoft Project. But can it be done in excel...?

And also since the x-axis reference to a numerical value, possible to label the axis differently, that means, each individual number refers to certain unique label. For example, step 1, the label is start. Step 2, the label is Rest point. Instead of showing the numbers in x-axis, I would like to see these labels in the chart.

Hope the problems are defined clearly here. Thanks a lot before and hope to get some enlightenments soon! Have a great week ahead, guys!!

Regards,
Willy
