I am trying to find a way to automatically move an entire row based on the contents of a single cell in that row.

In column M the values range sporadically from mycard1 - mycard1500. Not all number between 1-1500 are used so sorting would not work. Is there a way to automatically make the contents of a row in which column M contains mycard2 go to row 2, mycard1500 go to row 1500, and all others in between?

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
franklint,

Welcome to the Board.

One approach would be to add a helper column with the formula...

Code:
=RIGHT(M2,LEN(M2)-6)

...then copy the formula down to the last row. Now you'll be able to sort by the helper column.

Cheers,
