Most Recent Date For Each Unique Item, Totals Query Question

I'm very new to Access and I know this has been addressed here before but I'm still not finding exactly the information that I need.

I have a table with the following information
Date
Property
Action Required
Assigned To.

Property Names will appear multiple times in the table.

I need to find the most recent date that a property is referenced in the table so I can see the last action required on that specific property.

I've created a totals query but it is showing me the information for all properties. I tried changing the query properties so that it would only show unique values and/or unique records.

Can someone provide help or a resource on how I can narrow this list down?

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Create a Totals Query to only show two fields:
- Property (Grouped By)
- Date (Max)

So this will return the most recent date for each Property.
Then, create a new query, joining this query you just created back to your original table on BOTH the Property and Date field.
Then, return any fields to it that you want.

This should give you what you are looking for.

Thank you. I got the first half working. I'm trying to figure out how to join the query to the table. I need to keep poking around at that part but I'm halfway there!

1. Go to Create Query
2. From the "Show Table" dialog box, Add the table from the "Tables" tab
3. Then select the query from the "Queries" tab
4. Close the "Show Table" dialog box
5. Create the joins between the Table and Query by clicking on the field from the one and dragging and dropping over the same field in the other (it may already have done one of the two for you)

That worked. Thank you. I selected the wrong option previously and was getting too many records. I'm done with my basic questions for the day :)
