If my date in the table reads 7/1/2023 and I need to run a report to sum just by month. Do I need a query first and if so is there an expression I need to enter?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Can you create a pivot table in access? I don't have that option under create.

Note that it DOES appear that you can do Pivot Tables in Microsoft Access.
See: Create PivotTable or PivotChart views in an Access desktop database - Microsoft Support

arthurbr,
I am guessing that you got to this question by goint to the "Unanswered threads" listing. Note that it does show you which forum those questions are in, i.e.

If your data is properly normalized, you should be able to create a Totals query where you group by month/date. Depending on what you want out of the data, it may be smarter to create a report and group by month in the report instead. F'rinstance, you could send pdf of the report but maybe cannot send a pivot table.
