Hello,

I have a linked table(excel) who contains a field for zip code. Access is automatically setting the data type as number but for UK and Canada(because is a different format) the data can't bee seen and being a liked table i cannot change the data format. As consequence, the append query is not appending this data in my table. How can i fix it please?

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
I believe that when Access looks to an Excel table, it looks at something like the first 10 records to determine the data type.
Can you sort your Excel data so that some of these UK/Canada entries appear in the first 10 rows?
Then it may correctly identify it as Text/String instead of Number.
