missing VBA examples

I bought your CD -- 1600 Excell VBA Examples. When I click on some of the examples, for example Formatting -> Change the cell color via the conditional formatting.... the code panel comes up blank. there are several others where this occurs. Why are these blank?

Hi Dave,

In that particular case, Microsoft added functionality to Excel which allowed the task to be completed without VBA.

Look at Sheet1 in the 096600v.xls workbook - where this used to be accomplished with VBA, you can now accomplish it using the Conditional Formatting technique. From cell B1, select Format > Conditional Format to see how the color is accomplished.
