missing file

I have a file that does not show up when I open it. Allow me to explain further. I open the file as normal. The dialog box for updating links box appears and I click "don't update". Then nothing. The file name does not appear in the Window menu. There is nothing in Excel that says that file exists.

Am I out of luck?

Is it in a Hidden Window maybe? Do menu command Window, and see if the Unhide option is available.
