Missing data validation created in 2010 but opening in Excel 2007

I have a document created in Excel 2010 with data validation throughout the document. When I open it in 2007 the validation is lost.

Is there a work around or is this a known issue with none?

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
