Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
something not quite right with your criteria

what if A1 = .3%?

Code:
=IF(A1<0.4,0,IF(A1>0.2,5,A1))

give this a go?
it leaves the number alone if its in between those values

edit:
oh yeah AlanY has a point. You sure that criteria is correct?

Here's the formula with error catching
Code:
=IF(AND(A65<0.4,A65>0.2),"DOES NOT COMPUUUUTE",IF(A65<0.4,0,IF(A65>0.2,5,A65)))
but you have to read the error in your best robot voice

Hi,

Thanks for quick response ...

it may not solve purpose as it should also rerun 2.5% if A1 = .3%.... complete logic like this..

If =<.2 Result 5% if =.3 result 2.5% =>.4 Result 0%

I'm not sure i completely understand, so if this doesn't work for you please respond with examples using the table maker, a screenshot, or a direct download to your worksheet.
you can find examples of how to post these here

Code:
=IF(AND(A1<0.4,A1>0.2),2.5,IF(A1>0.4,0,IF(A1<0.2,5,A1)))

you changed the greater than and less than signs so i'm not sure what you're going for here.
an example would really help.
Please include both an example of how the data is presented as well as your expected results.
