Hi,

Is there a good resource for understanding the language of Word field codes?

I can find examples of field codes online, but cannot figure out how to alter to my specifications: a book would be ideal.

Can anyone help?

Sincerely,

Derek

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Hi Derek,

You're unlikely to find anything covering all aspects of field coding. However, I've produced a number of tutorials. For example:

Date Calculations:
To see how to do just about everything you might want to do with date fields in Word, check out my Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial, at:

or

Do read the document's introductory material.

Word Field Maths:
To see how to do a wide range of calculations in Word, check out my Microsoft Word Field Maths Tutorial, at:

Catalogue/Directory Mailmerges:
To see how to do these with any mailmerge data source supported by Word, check out my Microsoft Word Catalogue/Directory Mailmerge Tutorial at:
http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php?showtopic=731107
or
http://www.gmayor.com/Zips/Catalogue Mailmerge.zip
Do read the tutorial before trying to use the mailmerge document included with it.

Relative Paths:
