I am running a macro that saves a certain cell data to a property in sharepoint metadata. It works great. But, there's always a but, there are times that the string has a comma, then an intentional space at the end. When that is the case, I receive the following error: "method value of object metaproperty failed". Any ideas on what the problem is, had a similar issue, or are just bored and wanna kill some time?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
why is the data ending with a comma and a space - doesn't sound like a legitimate value generally. perhaps your metada point is expecting a valid numeric value.

You are right. It is actually a name (last, first). But sometimes there isn’t a first name to go with it and is just a space. On the SharePoint site I’m able to select it from a drop down menu. It just isn’t working when it is placed in the property using the macro from the workbook.

When you say you are able to select it in sharepoint, you mean you have names there that are missing first names, like Smith, or Johnson, in the list?

Edit: note - if the answer to the above question is no, then it's likely that you are required to provide valid names, or to put it another way you can only use names that match the selections available in sharepoint.
