I've used data validation and have added a message, but I've somehow removed the message box which should appear when a cell with a message is selected. How can I make it return? :-D

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Suggestion. Press F5 (Goto) then select Special bottom left button, then bottom right select Data Validation then click OK. From there use the Data Validation and you should be able to reset your message and rules.

Hi , Just select your validation cell and open validation window from data validation menu and set your message

Click on data validation ---> then select input message -- > then put your title and input message both.

If you only put title then it will not appear, you have too fill input message as well

I've filled both title and text. It was viewable before I replaced the location of the message box. I don't know where I placed it. I have a lot of validated cells. Isn't it possible to recall the old location - maybe with VBA?

Hi Stev

You can find out, if you know the validation range address .

Sub findDataValidation()
Dim strFind As String

For Each Rng In ActiveSheet.usedrange

On Error Resume Next
strFind = Rng.Validation.Formula1
If strFind = "=$G$10:$G$14" Then ' set here validation address
MsgBox Rng.Address
Exit Sub
End If

Next Rng

End Sub

My sheet contains very different validation rules. I've no problems finding out which cells to which I've added validation rules, but I've just placed the message box somewhere in the sheet and I can't find it :(
