I am trying to merge 5 columns together where only one column will have a date in (dd-mm-yyy) and the other 4 will be blank.

The column that contains the date is random and changes as you go down the spreadsheet.

Can anyone shine a light on a formula that KEEPS FORMATTING of the date when the cells are merged into column 6?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
If the other 4 cells are ALWAYS blank (as you say), then simply sum them in column 6 and set the format of the column to what you want. The blanks get added up as zeroes, so you end up with just the date value.
