Menu auto-returns to FILE tab

I've been changing multiple cell colors in an Excel 10 workbook using the fill color button. Each time I click the button, the active menu changes from HOME to FILE and I have to navigate back to HOME to do the next change. It didn't do this before...something has changed but I've not been able to figure out what. Any suggestions?
 

Excel Facts

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
