Not exactly Excel related but I am trying to write a batch file that will create a directory and then copy my spreadsheets over into it as a backup.

I would like my directories to look something like this

BkUp_060705

So each time the batch file is ran, it will create a new folder with the current date.

Can someone assist me with this or point me in the write direction?

Thx

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
I'm not sure that you can use dates in batch files,
but there is a way to do this with windows scripting :
(adjust mysource ans mydestination to your needs)

create a MyBackup.vbs with the following code

Code:
mysource = "C:\DATA"
mydestination = "E:\DATA"

set objFS = WScript.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
set objFolder = objFS.GetFolder(mysource )

mydestination = mydestination & replace(FormatDateTime(now, vbShortDate), "/", "_")
' msgbox mydestination

objFS.CreateFolder mydestination
objFolder.Copy mydestination , true
