Maybe Something Other Than Excel

I have developed a process using Excel spreadsheets to be used for scoring sporting events. I intend to make these available for purchase by others who host their own events. My concern is protecting my formulas and other info that I spent so much time developing. I have used all of the Excel tools by using hidden cells and password protecting worksheets and workbooks. These really aren’t adequate for the security level I wish to have for my product. It is necessary that I protect only certain cells within a worksheet while leaving other cells for user input.

Anyone have any idea for better security solutions for this? Excel might not be the best platform for developing such a program and I would certainly look to other similar products if I knew what to look for. Even an add on that I could use on my existing worksheets that provides higher security than is already there. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. FWIW I do not intend for these to be posted anywhere on the internet. These would run only on the hard drive of a local computer.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Excel secirity is cr@p to be honest and can be broken either using VBA or software that is readily available on the intranet. I'm not aware of any way of making it totally secure.

Without knowing much more about your solution and how it works it's a little difficult to suggest a better solution. Whatever it is I'm pretty sure you'd need to start from scratch.
