I have a list with -.2, 0.5, 0.8, -0.9

I want a formula which can always take the maximum numerical value in this case -0.9?

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
You want to use an array formula. Abs() will convert a negative number into it's positive value (i.e. the -0.9 becomes 0.9).

=MAX(ABS(
#VALUE!
