Afternoon,

I am struggling to overlay a horizontal stacked bar chart I have created that already shows max and min ranges, and a break for the average values, with markers that represent a current value. I managed to do this in older versions of Excel by adding a new series, changing that series to a line chart with markers and then making the line transparent however I can't figure it out in the new Excel.

Please can someone help me

Below is my data - columns H - M show the data I am plotting. In the chart below, I have changed the fill for the 'Minimum' column to be transparent, then the average - minimum value is shown in orange, and then maximum value - average is shown in blue. I want to add a dot or marker to now represent the 'current value' in column M, to show where we are in the range and whether that is above or below average.

Chart:

Can anyone help me with the steps?

Many thanks

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
I have a few tutorials that might help:

Bar-Line (XY) Combination Chart in Excel
Build a Bar-Line Combination Chart

See if they help, if not post back, and tell us how far you got.

Thank you - this was helpful and I now have my chart.

I was going a little crazy with lining up the scatter dots onto the bars, but I realised that I needed to take the y axis off auto calculated units, and fix the scale to the number of rows (22) in order to get them to line up on the bars properly.
