Hi,

Currently I'm busy preparing material inspection standards for an oil company.

We have to make inspection standards for 80 different categories.

The list of categories, the inspection standard are in excel. I would like to link the list and the standard as well as make it user friendly.

Can the basic excel can serve the purpose?

Or is Excel with VBA better?

I'm not much familar with VBA.

If VBA is good, let me know what shall be the way forward

Regards
Siraj

Hi Siraj,

If you are only wanting a "front page" that allows users to click on hyperlinks and then go to the associated inspection standards, then you don't need to use VBA.

You can just use Excel's hyperlink functions to do that.

A few things to consider:
1. How will your document(s) be structured? Do you have a single worksheet for each standard, or will you need a separate workbook file for each standard?

2. Do the users of this document system need to use Excel to interact with the standards (entering values and then seeing calculated results), or will they purely be reading the information? If it's the latter, you might consider saving the Excel document(s) to PDF format.
