Hi,

I am struggling to return a result based on two criteria. A match on a Roll combined with a match on a date range to return a roll ID that was used. Please see below. I am used to using vlookup which would be simple if there were only one roll, its the addition of the dates that is throwing me.

Sorry, can't see how to add a screenshot? Below looks in line in edit mode..

So in the first instance below with a question mark, it would return Roll ID B2

Roll Date Changed Date To Roll ID End Time Flute Roll ID
B 23/07/2017 24/04/2018 B1 27/08/2018 B ?
B 25/04/2018 16/04/2019 B2 27/08/2017 R ?
C 01/04/2015 16/04/2019 E1 01/09/2018 B ?
E 28/02/2018 16/01/2019 E1 10/06/2016 R ?
E 17/01/2019 16/04/2019 E2 15/07/2018 B ?
EB 01/04/2015 16/04/2019 EB1 01/04/2019 C ?
R 01/04/2015 16/04/2019 R1 08/02/2019 E ?

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
put table in a spreadsheet, highlight, and paste into reply box, and explain why return would be Roll ID B2
