Hello Community,

I am trying to match a selected cell to a reference of multiple columns. For my example, I want to choose a state and I want it to return which category it comes from. Each category has multiple unique states. Ex. I search for CA within whole time, I want it to return me the column name..Any feedback is appreciated.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
something like that?

with PowerQuery

But you'll need PowerQuery (aka Get&Transform) (Excel 2010/2013 - add-in, Excel 2016 and higher - built-in)
Do you have PowerQuery?
