I vaguely recall that there is a way to convert a range of cell references to absolute cell references in an efficient manner, but I have forgotten how.

Basically the problem is that I wish to copy a range of cells with standard cell referencing to another column next to the original column and I wish to have the formulae in the original column work in the new column.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Are you talking about the F4 move?. There are a number of tools on the web if you search (relative to absolute) that will do ranges

Hi

Not clear to me. You mean that the formulas in the second column will refer to the same ranges as the formulas in the first column?
In that case, why do you want to change the ranges to absolute? Is it not enough to copy the formulas as they are?

Can you give some examples?

When copying across the 2nd column to the new column, the formula results came up as an error.

Basically I suppose I'm looking for a way that the original formulas could be copied to any location & still function the same as the original formulas.

in the cell you are using as a reference you point to it from the formula with a dollar sign $. if you always reference A1 then $A$1, if its always in column A but you need the row to change $A1, if its always in the first row its A$1
