I am a novice without an understanding of Power Query and how it works. I am looking at doing something similar to a married name, maiden name query. I had previously paid an expert and upon looking at my workbook I think this was used previously for another function. I input information from external sources into the input tab and then run macros to perform different tasks. There are times that the classifications change names but it is the same organization. When I am doing history and tracking I only want to list each organization once. Even with name changes it is still the same organization. It is a timeline of classifications for schools an example of what I am speaking of would be AC239-AC248, and AD239-AD248 on the input tab. This is strictly a name change but shows as a difference. How can I use that query to show strings that might be different names but are the same classification?
