Marking Your Own Post as a Solution

Hello,
I recently had an issue that came up and after posting on the forums I found a solution on my own.
In response to someone helping me I spoke of what I did to solve my problem.
When prompted to mark a post as a solution I scrolled back up to see that you cannot mark your own posts as solutions.
Is this something that people have discussed before?
It seems beneficial to highlight any post in a thread as a solution not just those which come from someone other than the original author.

It is currently not allowed to mark your own post as solution since it was quickly abused in the first day of adding the Mark as Solution feature in the board.

However, you can click on the Report button just below your post, and let the moderators know that you'd like to mark your own post in your question as the solution.

Although we had to disable it due to mentioned actions for now, we also prefer the solved questions have the genuine solution post is marked. So, please do not hesitate to let us know the thread as I explained.
