Sometimes I notice forum members who have started a thread and after receiving a suitable solution from someone else, mark one of their own posts within that particular thread as a solution in stead of the post with the actual solution. Admittedly, the thread in question is indicated as being solved but it occurs to me that in this way the OP (in all probability unintentional) is building his own reputation.
As I've encountered a moderator sometimes corrects such incorrect markings. To be clear, it goes without saying that it is impossible for a moderator to continuously monitor such behavior. Don't know if this has been implemented yet but if the OP were to receive a warning beforehand that he / she is attempting to mark his / hers own post as a solution, some incorrect markings could be avoided.

Nevertheless and in the meantime: happy coding :)

Thanks for brining this up, the OP does indeed see a warning message and the situation is being monitored.

I do not understand this new feature.
And what is the different between solution and solved.
Who determines when a post has been solved?
Is that done by the questioner or some Moderator?

Just like @Fluff explained, the OP marks the solution post by knowing that they are marking their own post, however, we are currently monitoring the threads in which the OP's own post has been marked as the solution to see if it is actually the solution since the OP might have answered their own question or an "accidental" click due to misunderstanding the feature.

Gladly it is not impossible. We are currently doing this semi-manual. However, although the forum software doesn't have an internal module to monitor this situation, we are building a custom module for this purpose to make the moderation process on such threads much easier.
