Manual Sort in a Pivot Table

Hello all,

I feel very silly for this question, but here's my issue. I created a Pivot Chart, and I'm using TV dayparts as my rows. I'm using the titles for these dayparts (Morning, Daytime, Early Fringe, Prime Access, Prime, Weekend AM, Weekend PM, Total Day), and Excel 2007 auto-sorted these A-Z, which is not how I need them. I need them as they are listed, which is chronological according to the time of the day that they air.
I checked the "manual" setting under more sort options... and now I can't figure out how to drag and drop to re-sort my rows. Is there a particular part in the cell I'm supposed to be clicking on? Should I be sorting it somewhere else (not in the pivot chart itself?)

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Hi, the easiest way to solve this is to add a sort column to your raw data. Put a 1 next to all the Morning rows, a 2 next to daytime, etc.

Reset your pivot table to include this new column. Now sort on the column, then hide it so it doesn't get in your way.

You can manually order them by clicking on the header, then clicking and dragging it through the outline and placing it wherever you want. So, wherever Morning is given in the column, click on that, then click on the outline of this, drag it and place it where you want.
