Maintaining Link Relationships xls & ppt

There are two of us in separate physical locations (computers NOT networked) working on a xls and ppt file with links in the ppt (both version 2007) pulling info from the xls.

The problem we are having is to maintain the links once we have shared the files back and forth. At the present time, the links are built around the computer that they are generated on and won't work when we send the files back and forth.

We always send both files thinking this would take care of the problem and we place both files in the same location on our separate computers, but it's not working.

Thanks for your help!

Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
Put both file in the same folder and send the folder. That should't change the links information. Open the xls file first the the PPT file.
