I'm using Excel to generate a HTML web page. I use Edge to view that page. The page has "Mailto" links that launch Outlook message windows when clicked. (Besides populating the address line and subject line) the Mailto link has code that generates 6 lines of body copy. The line breaks are coded in the Mailto link by using %0D%0A
When I enter the hyperlinks and test them, they work correctly (6 lines of body copy) in Excel. When I save the HTML page, the links also work well in Edge.
Example Outlook Body Section Generated by Mailto Link:
Body Copy Line 1:
Body Copy Line 2:
Body Copy Line 3:
Body Copy Line 4:
Body Copy Line 5:
Body Copy Line 6:
But minutes later, when I open the Excel document back up again, the %0D%0A codes have disappeared. When I click the links (in Excel), the 6 lines are "smooshed" together into one line.
Example Outlook Body Section Generated by Mailto Link:
Body Copy Line 1:Body Copy Line 2:Body Copy Line 3:Body Copy Line 4:Body Copy Line 5:Body Copy Line 6:
If I then save the Excel file, it publishes the lost line breaks to the HTML doc — meaning the problem copies over to the HTML document in Edge.
Any help?
Thanks, Bill
