Hi there, I have a database, where I am storing company employees names and address etc.
Now what I want is, something like word mail merge, so it will fill letter header for me in msword. is it possible?

acutully i run a query, like peopel age between 18 to 25, I get 5 people, so then I want those names and address to print on word letter header.

Can some one please help me.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

like you said, you should use mail merge in word, in the tools menu. You get some kind of wizard which asks you to make some choices in 3 steps.
In step 2 your are being asked to make connection to your data source in your case the query which returns the names for your mailing.
After that, you can select the fields you want to be displayed and by inserting 'wordfields' you can add conditions like If then....else

When you're finished you can either choose to merge it directly to a printer or merge it in a word document.

This all might sound a little cryptic but trust me, play around a little with it and the possibilities will become clear very quickly.

I hope this is what you meant and that it will help you

If you re-create the document / letter as a report in Access then there is no need to do a mail merge - just base the report on the correct query and the "mail merge" (well actually, a multi-page report) is done for you.
